Colin Cessford
Colin Cessford - Director of Strategy and
Clinical Standards
Colin Cessford is a
former nurse and paramedic who graduated in 1997 with a BSc in
Pre-hospital care and an MSc in Health Science Management in 2003.
He is widely travelled, and has managed healthcare projects in both
the Middle-East and Australia. His current role combines aspects of
business development and operational management where he holds
responsibility for all aspects of the Trust's emergency (999) and
urgent call taking sites. Colin's most recent and noticeable
contributions to the NHS in the North East include; developing and
implementing a safe strategy for the alternative management of
patients presenting with non-time critical illness or injury (Cat C
Strategy) and, re-engineering the first point of contact with the
NHS so that it is now capable of conducting telephone contacts to
appropriate healthcare providers instead of just responding
ambulances.
A keen walker and cyclist, Colin's other passion in life, apart
from his family, is cricket. Colin lives in Hexham,
