We regularly receive positive feedback from patients and their families for the fantastic work we do. This award recognises teams or individuals who have been nominated by a patient, their relatives or friends, for making a difference to them. Those nominated will clearly demonstrated their passion for putting patient care at the heart of everything they do.

Paramedics Shari Schroeder, Maxine Meyer, Michaela Purham and student paramedic Ellie Samsun

The paramedics were nominated by the son of a gentleman with dementia for their outstanding care and compassion after he had a fall at a care home. Despite the gentleman feeling frightened and stressed whilst waiting in a corridor at hospital, the crews involved were praised for their empathy and care to help put him at ease during their long wait at A&E.

Hartlepool South crew – Daniel Atkinson (CCA) & Naomi Weston (NQP)

Daniel and Naomi were nominated by the parents of a boy who had a seizure. Although it was an extremely frightening experience, the crew were extremely professional, knowledgeable and re-assuring to the parents.

The team were nominated for their patient focussed approach and the ability of keeping the patient safe while getting her to a hospice for end-of-life care. The nomination stated the whole experience felt safe – from the call handler to the team who attended and all involved had an incredible impact to the patient and their close friends.

The crew were nominated by a patient who had been housebound for 17 months and needed transport to a podiatry appointment. The patient lived in a high-rise block of flats but the crew cared for the patient with kindness and kept the patient at ease throughout. |
