Elected: November 2016
I have a background in nursing and was a midwife for more than 20 years, working in Northumberland, Durham, North and South Tyneside. I also taught healthcare in Colleges for Further Education and Community Colleges, after gaining an Open University degree and a PG Cert in Education and Development.
My husband and I live in Newcastle and are very involved in community work. I am a Parish Councillor and a School Governor and a member of the Newcastle University Lay Research Panel.
I believe in the work of the ambulance service and its aim of helping to unite healthcare services, helping people and promoting public health.
