Public offered the chance to have their say on ambulance service
April's board meeting is going out on the road
Members of the public are being invited to get more involved with their local ambulance service.
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) monthly board meetings, which are open to members of the public, are usually held at the service’s headquarters, in Newburn Riverside.
But, in an effort to make meetings more accessible to the public, this month’s board meeting on Thursday, 28 April, is going out on the road and will be held at Rothbury Jubilee Hall at 12.30pm.
Ashley Winter, NEAS chairman, said: “A key function of the board is to ensure that there is effective dialogue with our local community on our plans and performance.
“Our meetings have always been open to the public but we recognise that the location of meetings is incredibly important and that our headquarters is not necessarily the most convenient venue for people to be able to attend.
“We are therefore going out into the community we serve in order to try and reach as many of our residents as possible, allowing people across the North East to tell us what they think.”
Board papers will be available to view online at www.neas.nhs.uk/about-us-our-board
