Annual general meeting
Public invited to Annual general meeting and Annual Members' Meeting
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) will be reflecting back over the last year at its annual general meeting (AGM) and Annual Members' Meeting on September 27.
The AGM is an important event in the NEAS calendar, enabling the public, members, staff, governors and valued stakeholders with the Trust's review of 2017/18.
The event also marks the formal presentation of the Trust's Annual Report and Accounts for 2017/18, including the Quality Report.
It will be held at The Town Hall Chambers Business and Conference Centre, in High Street East, Wallsend, from 2am-5pm, immediately after the public Board meeting, which starts at 11am.
This year Alan Foster, the regional lead for the development of the Integrated Care System in the North East and Cumbria, will be delivering a keynote speech on the importance of integration and the benefits this can bring to patients.
Foundation Trust members will also be able to vote on a number of constitutional amendments which impact upon the role or power of the governors.
This year's event will be NEAS chairman Peter Strachan's first AGM at the helm of the Trust.
Encouraging people to come along, he said: "As a publicly funded organisation, it's important that we are open and accountable to the people that we serve.
"Our AGM and Annual Members' Meeting provides you with an opportunity to hear all of our achievements over the last year, learn more about the challenges we face and how we try to overcome them, and to hear about our plans for the future.
"It also gives you an opportunity to meet and ask questions of senior leaders within our organisation."
Anyone wishing to attend this year's event is asked to register online here beforehand.
