Donation stream now open to help staff through COVID-19

A new stream of funding to support staff through and after the coronavirus pandemic is now available.

The dedicated charity through the North East Ambulance Service is now ring fencing any donations made that are referenced ‘COVID-19’, to support staff with their development, health and wellbeing.

It is anticipated that more staff will have mental health effects working through the pandemic, experiencing trauma and heighted stress and anxiety.

The NEAS Trust Fund exists to support NEAS community first responders, it’s regional defibrillator initiative and the Ambulance Mini Medics but the charity wants to ensure that the existing services already available for staff through the organisation, including occupational health, are further supported with the expected increase in referrals.

Chair of the NEAS Trust Fund Douglas Taylor said, “The charitable trustees would appreciate any contributions from members of the public no matter how small, to ensure we can provide extra support to staff and volunteers during this unprecedented time.”

Members of the public and also any NEAS staff can donate through the NEAS JustGiving page and referencing COVID-19:
