CPR Training opportunities

The following is a list of the upcoming public training sessions, in which we cover the recovery position, CPR, accessing and using a public defibrillator.

Anyone of any age and ability is welcome to speak to one of our members of staff and take part. Please email firstresponder@neas.nhs.uk for more information and to book your place. 

CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It’s a life saving medical procedure which is given to someone who is in cardiac arrest. It helps to pump blood around the person's body when their heart can’t.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it's an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest.

Bystander CPR and using a defibrillator significantly increases a patients chance of surival. Take part in one of our training sessions to help make the North East a safer place:

17/02/2020 - Middlesbrough - North Ormesby Institute, TS3 0DY - 6pm until 8pm

20/02/2020 - Station Town, Hutton Henry - Methodist Chapel, TS28 5EF - 6pm until 8pm

26/02/2020 - Washington - Teal Farm Pub, NE38 8FH - 6pm until 8pm

27/02/2020 - Stockton - Grangefield Centre, TS18 4HY - 10am until 12pm
