Non-Executive Director Vancancies
Message from the Chairman
Thank you for showing an interest in the Non-Executive Director roles at the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. There are vacancies for one Non-Executive Director and 2 Associate Non-Executive Directors. The vacancies provide an excellent opportunity to share your talents and expertise to make a positive difference to the lives of people in your community. I hope these rewarding positions catch your imagination and you are encouraged to apply.
The Trust is looking for outstanding individuals who have a genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent healthcare services and will make an effective contribution to this successful and ambitious organisation.
The Non-Executive Director role will require the individual to have senior leadership experience and we would particularly welcome candidates from a human resources background and/or with experience in a contracting or commercial operation.
The Associate Non-Executive Director role is used successfully in the NHS to support Board succession strategy and achieve a balance of Board-level skills. The ‘step-up’ role is aimed to attract potential Non-Executive Director candidates who do not yet have significant Board-level experience, or currently do not have the required availability – but have the ability and potential to succeed in a Board-level role and who will hopefully develop into a substantive Non-Executive Director role in the future.
The opportunity to join our well respected and successful Board of Directors comes at a time of intense scrutiny and change within the NHS set against a national backdrop of unprecedented financial challenge. To maintain our position as a ‘good’ performing Foundation Trust there is a need to transform the way in which we work to become even more efficient and productive.
To deliver this agenda we need to be proactive in responding to the significant changes facing the NHS whilst maintaining our focus and uncompromising approach to high quality, safe services for all our patients. If you have the vision and commitment to keep the Trust at the forefront of developments in the NHS and the expertise needed to make a real contribution, we would like to hear from you.
We are committed to and actively promote equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals from all areas of the community who meet the specific criteria are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage/civil partnerships. We want our Board of Directors to reflect the diversity of the population we serve and we welcome all applications, especially from under-represented groups, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
For further information or for an informal discussion with me, please contact my personal assistant, Gillian Elsender on 0191 430 2005 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications will open on Friday 3rd May 2019 and close on Monday 10th June 2019. Interviews will be held during week commencing 1st July 2019.
